This is one of the most unhinged books I’ve read in a while. I don’t know if it was good. I just … I don’t know.

I’ve found my new favourite genre to read- horror/thriller fiction. I can’t go back to “light” stories after reading Graham Mastersons books. I love the concept and how he doesn’t spare anyone- killing kids, cutting off dicks and eating them, twisting limbs off peoples bodies wow, it’s so graphic and interesting and unlike any other books I’ve read. Couldn’t stop reading, it was constant action and loved the mix of ‘victims’- a kid, a drug addict, a random charity shop worker, so intense.

The act of a suspected suicide marks the start of several vicious attacks across London, signalling a supernatural invasion from second hand clothing.
🌸
Masterton has taken a far fetched idea that would initially make me put the book down and call him crazy into a gripping horror that delivers chills and gore but also a realistic reaction from law enforcement to a supernatural take over.
🌸
This book had me questioning whether I should trust my close or it I should lock them in a cupboard and throw away the key.

Oh my goodness, I was hooked on this book. I haven't read a truly scary horror novel in such a long time and every chapter just leaves you speechless. I do not want to give anything away as this book is truly scary and will make you think about buying second hand clothes ever again. I need to read more from this author and I need to have more stories about the two detectives! Brilliant book, will 100% be buying this for my Auntie who is a huge horror fiction fan as I think this book is right up her street! Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read it!

Kicking off with a horrific suicide, followed by what may be described as mass schizophrenic breaks and this story sucks you in! While the main premise is fascinating and holds you tight (hopefully not too tight), it drifts into a world of high fantasy. While it may work for others this drift was a little too ridiculous for me. It ends back where it started BUT for about 100 pages you are left wondering how we got so far off track. I wish it hadn't turned so harshly as the story could have easily carried on with the original premise and still had the same basic occurrences. Overall not terrible but not his best work either.
