I don't like "modern translations" (is that a thing anymore?) and tend to be very old school but I adored this translation! I didn't expect to like it but I did. It was quirky, raw, funny, and very...human. I think this is something translators (and people like me) often miss by trying to maintain the original text and by doing so losing the essence of the poem, losing the humanity. It's a great translation, kept me busy on my 14 hour flight to Boston. Definitely recommended.

I think I like Homer better...although I can still recite the first few lines of the Aeneid in Latin.
