I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this, and I'm so grateful! This is such a feel-good book! Both of the main characters, Alice and Lisette, felt very real, and I connected with both. I'd love to have them as friends haha. This story contains it all— reconnecting with a childhood crush, roommates, and a little bit of mutual pining is thrown in there as well. The antagonist is also well done, I wanted to punch him whenever he appeared on the page! I definitely recommend this wonderful little wlw book :)

This books premise is so silly but I dont even care. I loved it and I want Hallmark to make a movie out of it RIGHT NOW. Low angst, sweet romance, HEA. Highly recommend if you need a palate cleanser between heavier reads.

I think it was an ok book…not my best read but it was ok. I found the things in the book a bit repetitive..there were always assumptions and the miscommunication in this book was not my cup of tea. However in the end I see other people liking this a lot more than I could of.

CW: Homophobia
This book is full of Christmas imagery, so I find it perfect for that Holiday season. I liked the Christmas shopping, the Christmas dancing, the Christmas singing, the hot chocolate, the presents and all the family feeling (at least with the kids).

The two protagonists were cute. I liked Lissette better because I could relate to her “explosive” temperament. I think that it was well portrayed. Sometimes, because we “explosive” people try to control ourselves too much for fear or hurting others, people are unable to understand when we explain that we have a problem with that explosive expression of our emotions. And Alice, I really don’t know how she was like.

I had the feeling that the author was not really sure about who was who because sometimes their “faults” and their virtues were passed from one to the other.
SpoilerIt was first Alice the one that exploded against Seth and then it was Lissette the exploding one. That happened a lot. First Alice was afraid of coming out, then she was mad because it was Lissette the scared one. First it was Lissette the one that told the kids to not express themselves in front of their parents if they were homosexuals (and Alice got mad at it), and then it was the other way around.
I think that the author was not sure about the two characters and it showed.

I’m not a fan of instalove, but I already supposed that it would be the case because the book is not that long. So I won’t complain too much about it. They were cute with each other and I think that the love was well expressed. Even though they had just met each other, I never doubted that they were in love.

I wasn’t a fan also of the homophobia of a lot of the members of the family. I prefer my Christmas readings to be happy and the homophobia takes a good portion of the book, so don’t read it if you are not feeling in the right mood to stand those behaviours.

Well, even with its flaws, I think that it’s a good book for Christmas time and to get in the mood to do Christmas things.

It was a sweet story full of Christmas atmosphere. I didn't really connect with the characters, even though they were really nice and sweet. Maybe it was because sometimes I had a hard time telling Lissette and Alice apart. I got confused in some parts.
If you want to read a very sweet story with a bit of drama (cw homophobia), and lots of hot chocolate and Christmas stuff, this is your book.

This book was phenomenal! I loved it a lot. It took some getting into, but the second you hit a certain part it’s like watching dominos fall into place. The sapphic content in this story alone makes my heart so warm. I highly recommend this story! You don’t even need to read it around Christmas time! Christmas is a minor aspect in the story.
