It is a story of relationships, friendships, and family. The breakdown of Lauren and Ryan's marriage, where they agree to take a year apart without contacting each other. There are some great supporting characters, Laurens sister Rachel being a particular favourite, alongside an agony aunt, Lauren's mum and brother Charlie. I absolutely loved Grandma and her pearls of wisdom.  The deterioration of the marriage is written sensitively. Lauren is not particularly likeable to start with, but as she learns to live without her husband, she grows on you. She learns to understand that communication is a must and understands her husband much better. Not your conventional rom /com romance book, but enjoy never the less.

How did I like the book?
It was a pretty medium book. To be honest, I did not really care about the characters because they kind of annoyed me in some situations.
I didn't feel like I was reading something new, something eye-opening, but it wasn't a bad book..it just wasn't for me.
I know it was about marriage, but the topic was way too present and I expected a major plot, that wasn't the case.
