A fun read, surprisingly good worldbuilding. The protagonist is a bit useless but it doesn't matter because he is not the focus.

(For the Black Coat Press translation) It was a rather fun book to read even if the added Doctor Who references made me groan with how blatant they were. I found Denis to be a fun narrator, I like it when narrators are mildly cowardly, kinda wish Fred did anything, and Doctor Omega is an alright exposition man.

A good thing about this open translation is that it did go out of its way to remove some of the more pro-colonial aspects of the original. While, sure, it's not the most accurate treatment, they may as well do that if they're already adding a bunch of Doctor Who references to imply this character is the 1st Doctor.
