Oh my GODDD I don’t even know where to start. Probably bumped up to my favorite book of all time. Elena Ferrante is a genius. Sometimes I would read a sentence and have to go back to reread it multiple times because her writing style is so beautiful. I’m so sad I don’t already have the third book of the series in my hand so I can start it right away. I can’t recommend this book more highly.

Oh god.. how do i even start with this one. Im still freaking out over the ending that my mind had gone blurry. Anyway.. starting off so well with the dramatic confrontation between the characters, brilliant dialogues.
I was at peace, until I went through the summer story. I can't explain how much my heart breaks for my girl, Lenu and how much I resent Lila for the choices she made. I love both of them with all my heart but this book broke me to pieces. I just wish Lila loves Lenu as much as Lenu loves her. But girls friendship is very complicated. Ferrante did a great job in potraying the nuances of their friendship in this book. I was so depressed that I put off this book for a few days to enjoy my short vacation a few days ago. I was scared to pick it back up because i got pretty intimidated by how it will make me feel since i emphasized with the characters a lot.
Then without realizing I had finished the last sentence of the book and my jaw is still on the floor while im writing this review (yes, im being dramatic)
Last thought on this book, does it count as a spoiler if I say... i hate nino please leave my girls alone. He better be dead on book 3 because what the hell?

This story feels just as much about sisters as it does about friends. I was hooked from the first page this time around. Didn’t realize how much I missed these girls. (But seriously… why would a man be there!!????!!!? 😫😭)
