This was my first Meghan March book and I really enjoyed it! Well written and not cringey, and I feel she fleshed her characters out pretty well. Dirty Billionaire is book 1 of her Billionaire series so I would imagine you would get more character growth in the next 2 books.
The Good
- Well written and unexpectedly wholesome?
- Creighton Karas
- I'm so used to douchey dickhead MMCs so I was shocked how much I liked Creighton Karas. He's supposed to be a dickhead billionaire, but his interactions with Holly are actually super sweet from the most part. He respects Holly's boundaries when she's firm with them and he ACTUALLY APOLOGIZES to her when he fucks up, like calling her a whore. I was SHOOK, ya'll. SHOOKETH!
- Creighton also believes in aftercare. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!
- Holly Wix
- I love Holly as the FMC. She's sassy, has personality, and doesn't take shit from Creighton. She's heavily opinionated, talented, and is career driven, which is a refreshing change from the "I just want dick" FMCs I've been hate reading. Holly does have a tendency to constantly remind you she's a lol ol' country gurl from Kentucky. Yes, Holly, I know.
The Bad - This is me being nit-picky because I really liked Dirty Billionaire
- The age gap - There's a creepy 11 year age gap between Holly and Creighton. Holly is 22 and Creighton in 33. To be fair, Creighton wasn't actively going for someone young to wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am. But he didn't exactly ask questions til AFTER he did the side way tango with Holly. I'm going to suspend my brain cells for this one and let this slide, but this kind of age gap never really works realistically.
- Cliffhanger ending - Kinda in a cliffhanger. There are 2 more books in this series but I'll have to put off reading it until I can get another free subscription of KU again.
Overall, Dirty Billionaire is an enjoyable, quick read. I want to read more of Meghan March's stuff now because I enjoyed this first book so much.
