This is just the first volume so not a lot happens. I enjoyed it though Natsume Ono really has a way of exploring issues within their works so I'm interested to see where this goes.

I love that Akitsu is just a loser. Like the dude is good, but his confidence is really sucky, I'm interested to see if his character changes through this series at all.

Also really interested in the weird machinations Yaichi has got going on.

Masa is a ronin that keep getting fired from his job due to his fragile & timid personality. One day, he was sought after by a man that wants him to be his bodyguard. Of course, Masa was thankful for the offer. However, it gets weird when the man still wants him to be his guard when he found out Masa's personality. Masa then was pushed to an edge when he knows what the man's job actually is.

Great starting point. I love art; although not perfect, it was clean.

Not a bad story, but it didn't grab me. The main character is too passive to be interesting. If I didn't already have the second volume from the library, I wouldn't bother continuing with the series. And I still may not.

This manga was recommended to me by two friends who have a love for unique manga that's literary (as opposed to "the same old historical drama"). I'd also read some of Ono's other work, both "Ristorante Paradiso" and some fan-translated work, and I love her low-key but intense plots and unique, loose drawing style.

This story had me confused at first, as it took a while for me to sort out the characters in my brain, but once I did, I enjoyed their distinct personalities. I adore the central character--a ronin who insists on taking only samurai-worthy work, but is hampered by his non-threatening manner. He falls in with kidnappers who have separate and mysterious reasons for what they do, and refer to themselves as "the House of Five Leaves."

This is one of those manga that implies much more than it reveals. I hope it actually follows through on revelations, and look forward to future volumes.

Interesting manga. While the plot had some interesting turns, I wasn't too impressed with the main character's lack of agency.
