Oh my god… I have no words. Absolutely none... I don't write much reviews so bear with me here.

I went into this semi-blind, taking the content warnings into consideration. And I'm glad I didn't go into this blind because I don't think my mental health could handle it.

This book literally excelled my expectations and to be honest, this book kept me locked in so hard that I had to force myself to put it down (yes it's that good). A complete 10000/10 and a definite reread. 

If you are someone that plans on reading this, please do look up the content warnings as this book has a lot of touchy subjects.

this book made me feel empty, scared, angry, and sad all at the same time. i really want to give devon the biggest hug ever, because he deserves so much more :( 
but, in all seriousness, this shit actually happens, and it's scary. i really hope nothing like what has happened it the book happens to anyone.

It's an intense thriller that handles discussions of eugenics, class, and systemic racism brilliantly. The entire time I read this book I could feel a pit of dread in my stomach and I could not put this book down because I just wanted to see Chiamaka and Devon get out and be okay.
