This novel (and the books that followed) were an important influence on my middle-school self! Besides being wildly entertaining romps, they helped me understand that sometimes people operating outside the system's laws are the ones who are in the right - and the Stainless Steel Rat was far more interesting and relevant than Robin Hood!
