This book...I've been trying to decide what to say in this review all day, and I'm still not sure what to say.

I was really excited to read this book. My local library started offering a new ebook service and they have have some self published books to borrow, and I geeked out about that. It's not often that you see self published books in the library, so when I do, I go all fangirl. So, I agonized over what to read first from the list of books offered, and after reading (and loving) [b:Moonshot|27872890|Moonshot|Alessandra Torre|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1463643593s/27872890.jpg|47864597] and [b:Hollywood Dirt|25802884|Hollywood Dirt (Hollywood Dirt, #1)|Alessandra Torre|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1439214601s/25802884.jpg|45656922], I decided this was the perfect book to borrow and read first.

On one hand, I did like this book. I read it in one sitting. But on the other hand...I just didn't love it the way I loved Moonshot and Hollywood Dirt.

I did like Chloe. I felt for her and what she was going through. I loved that she had such good friends that stood by her when others would have dropped her. I hated that Chloe's parents were so awful. But beyond that, I wasn't really passionate about this book. Yes, I wanted to know what happened, I wanted to know who she'd end up with...but I also wasn't really connected to the story and was slightly disappointed when my first and second choices weren't the guy she ended up with.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying I disliked Carter, because I did like him. He was sweet. But I couldn't help that there were two other guys I liked more. My first choice was one that I knew would never happen (I would have been shocked if it did happen)...and that was Clarke. I just couldn't help but like him because he was such a great guy that deserved better than what he had. And once I got over the fact that it wasn't going to be him, Joey was introduced...and I was instantly smitten. I was cheering when he kissed her and hoping that she'd end up with him but...alas, it wasn't meant to be. So, Carter it was.

I'm not quite sure what it was that kept me disconnected from the story, but whatever it was, I just didn't love this as much as the previous books I've read by Alessandra Torre. I'd definitely recommend it to others, it just wasn't awesome for me.

4.5 stars

Alessandra Torre FTW! Love, Chloe is like the beautiful love child of a Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada, and The Nanny Diaries orgy.

Chloe Madison is having a tough year. She’s a pampered NYC socialite who rapidly descends into the land of commoners after her parents are indicted for insider trading fraud. Left with no home, no diploma, and no money, Chloe pulls up her big girl panties and manages to find a job as a personal assistant to a B-list actress/condom heiress. Too bad Nicole Brantley is such an unreasonable, demanding, inconsiderate, miserable, just-plain-bitchy boss. To make matters worse, her cheating ex-boyfriend won’t leave her alone. At least she’s got her two best friends by her side for support, all her old designer clothes to stay fashionable, and a super hot building super to fantasize over.

LC teaser - lipstick on man

I loved Chloe. The girl may have been entitled and lord knows she has the worst parents imaginable, but she’s not an obnoxious snob or a whiner. Her adaptability really appealed to me, and I loved seeing her evolve throughout her year and a half journey of independence.

Chloe’s relationship with Carter is so sweet, with just the right amount of steam. The business with Chloe’s ex-boyfriend went on way too long though and ventured into Annoyingville. However, it’s a minor hiccup in an otherwise charming story.

This book screams fun and flirty. Between the clever chapter titles – “The Benefits of Grape Bubblegum,” “My Middle Name is Classy,” “Cupcakes Heal Most Wounds,” My Penniless Ass is FREE” – and the entertaining Instagram photos, Alessandra Torre has taken a rather familiar storyline and repackaged it into a fresh and highly enjoyable experience.

Easy light read...
Funny how this has been in my two read list for almost two years.

So different from this authors other books. So sweet and touching. Great book.

Ahhh, super cute story!!

Oh how the mighty have fallen. But boy did Chloe pull up her La Perla panties and take care of her business. Sure, is was a rocky go at it, but she didn't let that stop her. I loved her and Carter together. I enjoyed the crap out of this story!

4.5 stars! I did love Chloe.

First sentence: Someone was trying to break in.

FUN & SEXY

LOVE, CHLOE wasn’t what you would expect from Alessandra Torre. This is totally different that her other books I have read. I would like to see more books with this kind of vibe from her. LOVE, CHLOE was super fun and sexy. It was enjoyable and light. It’s the perfect book for anyone in the mood for a palette cleanser after reading an emotional book.

CHARACTER GROWTH

The main character, Chloe, goes through a ton of crap at the beginning of the book, and it really opens her eyes. She tries to pick her life back up and along the way she discovers herself. The transformation she makes throughout the book is astonishing.

Conclusion:

While this story is cute, fun, and light with a great deal of character growth for the main character, I felt like some things could have been better. There were things that happened in the story that didn’t quite make sense, and then there were things that felt like they weren’t finished-like there could have been more. At the beginning, the way the story is written makes it seem like Chloe’s love interest is between two different guys, then there’s another guy thrown into the mix and I was like, “Whaaat?” I did end up liking the guy she chooses, but I liked one of the other guys quite a bit too and I felt like there was really no closure or anything for that guy and I would have liked to have seen something. Ultimately what took away from this story so much for me was the fact that there’s a lot of things left open and basically nothing is tied completely up.

Love, Chloe is the latest standalone from fan favorite Alessandra Torre. It's a great quick read and very different from what we've previously read from her.

"Maybe now, with my new life a train wreck, I would discover the real Chloe Madison. And maybe, I would like her."

Chloe Madison finds herself having to start over with her life. At 22-years-old, she's jobless, living on her friends couch and single. Love, Chloe is as much of a coming-of-age, meaning of life book as it is romance.

"There was no room for a safety net with love, not when you had feelings that overrode all reason."-

After not loving the last two releases from Alessandra, I decided that Love, Chloe would be my deciding factor. If I didn't love it, I wouldn't be reading more from this author. I'm so glad I read this! It was funny, quirky, romantic, and HOT. At 54%, I realized I didn't know who Chloe's love interest even was! It was refreshing. As much as I love a hot, sex in the first 20% of the book read, I love a good slow build with a great story behind it. Alessandra delivered on Love, Chloe and I couldn't have been more satisfied with it. Also, the cover...hello! One of the best covers I've seen in a while.

Anyway, read it. Get to know Chloe Madison and enjoy her growth from a rich brat to working class and the ride she takes you on.

Jesus, this was such a waste of time. Finished only to see of it was as dumb as it looked like after 10 pages. And no, it was even worse.
