"After posting a negative book review, a woman living in a remote location begins to wonder if the author is a little touchy—or very, very dangerous—in this pulse-pounding novel of psychological suspense and terror from the critically acclaimed author of No Exit and Hairpin Bridge."

As a book reviewer this book is haunting. Emma leaves a one star book review that sparks an online argument with the author. He demands that she remove the review, she refuses, and soon after things begin to go bump in the night at Emma's isolated beach house.
I loved the strength of Emma's character standing her ground. While there are definite twists and thrills, the mystery of what was happening was what stole my attention.
This is a fast paced easy read. I think this would be a great beach/pool read and also the perfect book to pull you out of a reading slump.

I really enjoyed this fast paced thriller.  I loved all of the twists and turns in the story in the back half.

3.5 ⭐️...rounded down because of the whiplash I now have because of the last third of the book.

I'd give a solid 4 stars to the first 2/3, but that ending. Sheesh. I felt like the main character in the prologue when she finally read, "The End." ...

The beginning is draggy but once the action and twists start happening, it really picks up.
