This started out a little cringy. It has a lot of overplayed tropes and nothing super memorable. I didn’t connect with the characters like I was hoping to. Overall it was ok, but not great.

Carly Phillips never ceases to deliver when writing her books. This is the beginning of the new Dare series, beginning with the oldest Dare Brother, Ian. Ian has some issues from his childhood that he needs to deal with. He meets Riley on the arm of his half brother, and is instantly drawn to her. Little does he know her past is dark and she will need to overcome it. I love this book because of the family dynamic, it is the beginning of forgiveness and blending of lives. I also enjoyed watching Ian and Riley heal and learn to be in relationship. So many obstacles, and they begin to navigate their lives together. Carly has left me wanting book two!

Sophie Eastlake always delivers an incredible performance when narrating a book. So glad she is bringing us this series.

Grab your favorite wine or a huge mug of hot tea, put your feet up and enjoy the first Dare brother - Ian. He's controlling and domineering, yet Riley breaks through his walls. She gets him to extend an olive branch to his half-siblings as his half-brother, Alex, is her best friend.

Carly always sweeps me into her stories, but this one is her best yet... More steamy and sexy. Cannot wait for Alex's story.

This was a very nice read. I believe its the first in the series?? But the book kind of acted like there should have been a pre-book? written very nicely, really could relate to Riley.

Literally stopped at 6% in, this book either wasn't for me or I was in a bad mood.

Ian is dominating and controlling. When the past he has, you understand why he is this way. Sexy is an understatement. He is throw for a loop when just the sight of a woman get him tangles. Even with his controlling ways I liked him a lot.

Riley is a strong, independent and headstrong. Sassy and fun. She has a broken past and has faught every step of the way to be where she is now. She will stand up for herself even when asking for help or when a man is trying to dominate her.

Dare to Love is my first Carly Phillips book and will not be my last. I enjoyed everything from the concept of the stroy to the awesome characters she has written. A sexy and fast read, with a lot going on that will get the blood moving. When I first started reading I was not sure this would be the book. A few pages later, I was sucked in. Dare to Love is a great start to the series and I am looking forward to reading Alex’s book.

An e copy was provided for an honest review!

This is a fun book with a lot of characters that are continually expanded upon in future books. I can't wait to read more! NY Dares are even steamier and just as fun.

The first in Carly Phillips’ Dare to Love series was fun and a little sexier than I’m used to from her. Ian knows that he has issues with his father and his father’s new family but for his sisters he will attend his birthday party. He had no idea that the woman of his dreams would walk in the door, only on the arm of his brother. As a favor to her best friend, Riley attends his father’s birthday party only to be confronted with a man she is wildly attracted to. As friendship and work throws them together and pulls them apart, Ian and Riley have to learn how to open themselves up to love and forgiveness. Nice start to a new series, I’m excited to see where it goes.
