A book filled with drama, horses, boys and more!

So the drama between Callie and Sasha continues. *sighs* On the one hand I didn't mind it, and I was nodding along with Sasha and I understood why she acted like this. But I just wish it was over, throughout most of the book I just wanted this stuff to be over with. We get, Callie was a bitch, did something stupid, we know she broke your heart, but is it really necessary to be like this? She made a mistake, a big one, but she was also your best friend.

Jacob was pretty OK in this book, though I hated his attitude towards Eric. Jacob, you are with a girl, you can't just be jealous of someone else. That is just not OK.

The biggest dislike for me was the fact we now have Jasmine in Canterwood Crest. Urgh, the worst character EVER, and she is in this one? Why? Why was this needed? To create extra drama now that Heather and Sasha are pretty much on the same line and are kind of friendly at times? We don't need an uberbitch added to the mix.
And sure, Heather was a bitch in this one as well, towards Jasmine, but sorry, I just couldn't feel sorry for the girl. I was actually kind of cheering for all the revenge the Trio took. And this may sound bad, and may make me a bad person, but the things that Jasmine did to Sasha, to Heather, to horses (and why would you do that if you are a horse person) and to several other people, are disgusting, and I was actually glad she was getting what she deserved back.

Of course Canterwood Crest isn't Canterwood Crest without the big dose of drama, so we get that kind of crap near that end. *sighs*It was to be expected, but I still didn't like it. It just created unnecessary drama. But I guess the author has to write about something in the next book.

But there were also lots of good sides to the book. Eric and Sasha (well, for most of the time). They make a great couple and Sasha is just adorable when she is thinking of Eric. :)

Paige and her Teen Cuisine? I just loved it, it made Paige an even better and more fun character than she already is. I also liked how much she was always there for Sasha, and how good of a friend she was.

The horse riding? I just loved it. I could truly just see me in the stables, watching the horses, watching people groom them, and when they were riding, I could just see myself in the stands watching the awesomeness unfold.

All in all though, this was a good book and I did enjoy it a lot. I would still recommend this series to everyone!

Sasha's still reeling from the Callie/Jacob news. She's hurt beyond belief and she can't deal with looking at them, let alone talking to them. Plus, she's still not able to ride thanks to the stunt the Belle's pulled on their team. With nothing left to do, she's been groom Charm like crazy and paying attention to her school work so she won't fall behind again. A bonus to hanging around the stable -seeing Eric. When he confesses that he wants to date her, she's over the moon. But she's unwilling to take their relationship public after what happened with Jacob and the Trio. But the Trio have their hands full with newcomer Jas. Jas has pulled too many tricks on them to bury the hatchet and no one on the team trusts her. Does she have another trick up her sleeve? Once riding starts up again, Sasha's pulled in all directions - Callie wants to patch things up, Eric wants to take her out on a date, and Paige's TV debut is just weeks away. Can Sasha juggle everything and keep everyone happy?

Two days ago I went to 2 area bookstores looking for this book. I didn't find it at either, but the next day at work it came in. I asked nicely if it could be processed right away and luckily for me, it was. I devoured it the next day. The covers rock - so fresh and fun and featuring cute riding gear. The books always make me want to go riding. I adore these books - an incredibly sweet and perfect blend of friendship, horses, drama, and romance.

You know a book is good when you can’t even remember the end of the last book and the beginning of the next one:)*

2020 Reread
This synopsis isn't super accurate, because part of it refers to stuff that happens in the previous book.
Jasmine added a really great spice to this book as Heather sort of starts to treat Sasha better.

I feel like this one misrepresents Sephora as the sort of place you can buy lip gloss by flavour. I even was like "wat" and went to the website to check my facts, and you totally can't. My faith in Sasha's lip gloss knowledge has been shattered. On the other hand I didn't know Bonne Bell sold online and they actually do, which would be more interesting if I were 12 and if the Lip Smackers weren't sold through a separate site.

As always, Sasha and co. are creating high drama that is all their own fault and could be easily solved by taking a deep breath and acting like a normal human being, being super reactive towards people they just assume are going to be mean, obsessing over their hair, makeup, boyfriends and snacks/coffee (my school wouldn't even sell us cola). Back when I was in the target age group I would have grudgingly slogged through all the stupid romance stuff waiting for the odd mention of horses. It is somehow more entertaining to me now, probably because I'm not looking for anyone to identify with. Read if you like laughing at children and feeling smug because you aren't one. Don't read if you want to only read one because I stand by earlier judgements that these are really not stand-alone novels at all; they're serials.
