I found this novella when I was looking for more horror novels that feature nuns. While something about the writing style irritated me, I pushed on and it improves after the first 7 or so pages when characters meet and start talking to each other. It's a delightful little folk horror morsel with the best ending it could have had. I particularly enjoyed how the history the story is situated in was unveiled without containing a single, long infodump while still retaining enough mysteries to keep you thinking about it long after you close the covers.
If you're looking for weird "ungodly" things happening at covenants, I recommend giving this one a try!
