I have to say that I really enjoyed this one.

Mason finds himself with a speeding ticket on his way home for Christmas and understandably, his interaction with police officer Steve, is anything but friendly and warm. What proceeds is kinda a comedy of errors, as these two meet time and time again by chance and under very awkward situations. Each are attracted to the other, but circumstance keeps getting in the way... until it doesn’t and that’s when things start to work out perfectly.

Not much happens, as this is a nice slow burn with an enemies to lovers overtone to it, as it spans several days. I can see some might find this a bit boring, but its strength is in the writing. This could’ve been mundane or trite or just plain awful and stupid, but it wasn’t. The writing was really good and the progression of feelings was gratefully realistic and plausible. Supporting characters were equally interesting that I wouldn’t actually mind a story about shy Sam or brother Kade. This was also nicely, sexily done, though I could always go for more - like that’s a surprise, right? The only complaint I have was that it ended so abruptly. Where is my epilogue dammit!? Regardless, this was my first story by this author, and it certainly won’t be my last.

Can I Perform a Citizen's Arrest for Christmas Cuteness?

Opposites attract! A Cop for Christmas gave me a great feel for the holidays along with a deeper love for Jamie Fessenden's work than I already had---which is saying something. Mason is the kind of Everyman who appeals to me since I can relate to his liberal views, relaxed approach to life, and family values; Steve is the Good Cop who upholds the law because he believes in it. They're a weird mix on the surface since Mason has zero problems with his rainbow-haired brother sporting a poly relationship with a beautician girlfriend and chef boyfriend or showing up as the nude model for college Life Drawing classes and Steve---loves dogs and the law.

Honestly I expected to think Steve was boring. I found him very compassionate instead. He cares about his town, his neighbors, and loves his dog as if he's a child. The guy's really easy to love. He's even friends with -and basically the only support system for- his ex-boyfriend. The guy's close to sainthood in a lot of ways. I liked his gruffness because it humanized him.

Mason was easily the more interesting of the pair. His family reminds me a lot of my own: big, noisy, and incapable of understanding normal personal boundaries. I really enjoyed how he wound up getting "A Cop for Christmas" and I can easily see this being on my holiday re-read list in the future! Such a great feel-good story! I'm so glad this was in Kindle Unlimited so I could read it this holiday season!

A very cute and sweet holiday story that hit all the right spots. Mason comes to visit his family for Christmas and manages to get a speeding ticket on his way into town. After that, he can't seem to stop running into very hot cop, Steve. Sparks fly between the two of them and they are thrown into some pretty interesting situations.

Apparently I re-read this exactly a year after I read it the first time. Wanted to do a re-read because I see Sam's got his own story [b:A Viking for Yule|36689276|A Viking for Yule|Jamie Fessenden|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1512024617s/36689276.jpg|58485716], and I couldn't remember many details about him or Jackie.

I liked this story but wanted more of the Mc's. Would love to get Kade's story, I think that would be fun. Felt sorry for Sam, could understand why he was so insecure, hope he finds someone to bolster his self confidence.

THERE has been, are, and will always be, a host of stories about two people who meet, have a prickly start, but through various shenanigans and situations learn something about themselves and change their opinions. Do not read A Cop For Christmas expecting to break new ground in the concept of the romantic novel. But do not let that put you off reading it. What you read may not be the most original tale ever, but it is a story of meeting, longing, and love, dealt with grace and charm.

We meet our protagonists Mason and Steve on a winter’s eve. Mason is speeding in his car on the way to his parent’s new house in remote New Hampshire, and Steve is the local cop who pulls him over. The delicate and subtle romance that blooms is displayed against a background of Rockwell, or as is referenced in the story, Kinkade, paintings.

The family and society around our two lovers are supportive, but not cloying, and they are left to find each other and find out what that means. There is a strong supporting cast who add to the story, bringing in new threads and questions, but never detract from the main thrust. Indeed Fessenden uses both an inconvenient ex boyfriend and an overly open brother to gently explore what it is to find love in difficult circumstances.

The true strength of this story lays in the genuine affection for the characters and the surroundings. It would be difficult to read and not wish to move to rural New Hampshire to find a dog-loving rugged cop of your own. The engaging and sometimes homely descriptions of life in a small town feel real, engage you, and most importantly connect to you, regardless of your background or inclinations.

Despite the picture-perfect elements of the story, at its base are two believable characters that you care about, and if you’re looking for something to warm your heart this Christmas, you could do far worse.

This was cute. I was a little concerned at first, as I thought the characters' instant hate for each other was silly and that it would ruin the book.
But the author did a decent job of having their attraction to one another overpower that.

That book had just enough angst to make it interesting.

It was definitely a cute little Christmas novella.

This was very well written. I found that I really enjoyed the author's writing style, and it was well edited and organized. I enjoyed reading about Mason and Steve, and the secondary characters of Kade and Sam made me interested in their stories as well. I liked this a lot.

Very good!

For a novella, it packed a lot in. The characters were fun and the relationships within the Collier family, between Steve and Mason and the other characters were well developed. It had my faves - humour, low angst. It's an HFN, but satisfyingly so, but I do hope that there is a follow-up and Sam gets to find someone.
