So far this is only the 4th of Mr. Scalzi's work I've dug into. I wanted more weird. I got more safe.

Welp, there was a lot to wrap up here (have I mentioned the potential end of the human race, or at least everyone in a vast interstellar empire?). This trilogy was decisively concluded here, which I always appreciate. Without getting spoilery, some aspects of that conclusion are more satisfying than others, but all of them were internally consistent.

I was wondering if Scalzi could land this series and the answer is, yes, very much so.

Some absolutely great moments.
Spoiler "Bitch, you're in my seat." Of course. But also the casual saunter into assassinating his main character. Memorable in the almost trivial way he just slides it in there.
. Had a great time reading this series

This book picked up for me as it went along, and the ending caught me by surprise. An enjoyable series but I am glad it has ended.

I enjoyed this trilogy. The collapse of the flow is an interesting metafor for climate change. Maybe we’ll need a Grayland of our own.

This should actually be a three star book but… omg … but …
It was way to info dumpy and it dragged at times but omg did I love the female characters and the end. Never thought he’d wrap it up like this. But it worked for me.
So, five stars even though I know it should be three
