This book is a fever dream, by turn hilarious and poignant. First half was phenomenal. Despite being short (230 pages) though, it dragged a bit in the middle. I also didn't love the end. I loved Milk Fed more, but it was still a good read. I'll definitely read The Pisces.

i very much enjoyed reading this. it was my first melissa broder, and i will definitely be reading more of her books. the book wasn’t as weird as it could be (read reviews saying that it was a weird girl book and i was expecting it to be weirder), but i did enjoy the magical realist and surrealist elements.
