Thoreau was a man of his time; that said, he was also a privileged white man of his time. While he does not go into detail about his ideology related to non-white people, it is clear from his mentions of "Indians" and "savages" that those who do not look like him are very "other", and his romanticism of "orientals" and "hindoos" crosses into racist territory.
