i'm not sure the word new should have been added, although this was redone in the 90s. i've never taken a human sexuality class, so i picked this up more as a basic textbook - what am i missing? the book itself doesn't feel relevant for where the world is today in terms of fluid gender and sexuality. it's also not a factual book in that the authors take a stand on types of sex, what's right and what gets covered. i think the joy of sex should stay where people think it is, which is more of a moment in time for historical reference, rather than imparting helpful knowledge for living in today's world.
