it was pretty good for a second book in the series. i love that the author has some twilight quips in there. i thought that was hilarous.

It was nice to see what Mina's life after turning would be like. We got to see all the great characters from the first book, and some really nice new ones *cough cough* Cameron *cough cough*. This wasn't my favorite vampire series ever, but it was really cute and funny, and I enjoyed reading it.

Overall:

Overall this book was decent, but average. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't have me begging for more. It had a good plot, but I felt like the author could have focused more on certain areas and less on others. I didn't love or dislike the main lead, Mina. This is a book I would recommend borrowing from the library or a friend, but not buying.

Good:
The plot was interesting and unique for a teenage vampire book. I particularly enjoyed it taking place in the South. Mina didn't draw any strong emotions from me, but I like how loyal she was to her friends, family, and her boyfriend. I also liked how she didn't really let anybody boss her around and she wasn't afraid to stand up for herself. My favorite part of the book was Myth/actual truth boxes at the beginning of each chapter and the journal-like entries. A love triangle started to form, but Kimberly Pauley thankfully shut that down.

Bad:

The plot had a lot of potential, but it didn't quite live up to it. I felt like learning a bit more about the vampire culture, seeing legitimate vampire thing in the first few chapters (the VRA doesn't count. I'm talking shape shifting, blood, etc), and just more vampire would have been better.

Mina was a bit whiny as well. It felt like all she did was whine the whole book, I know the title is "Still sucks to be me" but the amount of whining was ridiculous. Get over it.

This was an incredible novel. I wasn't sure how the series was going to continue knowing that Mina had become a vampire. It actually really surprised me, I had high expectations because of the first novel and this novel certainly met my expectations.

There was so much mystery and such humor. I was also surprised to see that there were many plot twists that I didn't expect. All in all a fantastic read and I'm really hoping that there's a third novel in the series!

Now that Mina is a vampire, she has to relocate with her family to the south while her vampire boyfriend George visits his newly found vampire parents in Brazil. She also has to leave her BFF Serena behind in CA but soon finds out that being a vampire may have perks like great looks and strength, but there are still cons like her having to start in a new school and not knowing anyone. But with George not answering emails, texts or phone calls, Mina starts to think he has lost interest and her eyes fall to another sexy vampire, Cameron Carter, who teaches her what it can be like to be a vampire by showing her around and telling her how to use mind control. But there may be something not right about Cameron and Mina ,along with her family and friends, may be in danger if they don't figure out what's going on and who can be trusted and who can't.

In reading the first of the series, I automatically knew that this was gonna be great book but it was over my expectations. I love the humor that Kimberly Pauley adds to the story. I ,seriously, will be reading this and then out of the blue start laughing at something she writes. This one introduced new characters and also remained with the older characters and that brought more life to the book. I enjoyed the book very much and would recommend it to any person who loves to read about vampires. It has romance, suspense, humor, and drama so what more could a girl ask for?

It's been a long time since I read the first book, and I had trouble remembering the characters and the plot of the first book. I struggled with this one, which is unfortunate because it was funny and fast paced. I put to down and then had no real desire to pick it back up. That being said, I did enjoy it once I finished it. I could not stand Kacie and even though it was extremely juvenile I really enjoyed her comeuppance; a cow patty on the head in a homecoming dress! I was upset that Raven was back; she was irritating in the first book and downright pathetic in this one, but at least they actually wiped he memory this time. I liked the idea of Serena becoming a vampire, but it was not the right choice for her. I was so mad and George and frankly Mina deserves better than him. I really liked Cameron, and was sad when he ran away. He was innocent and could have easily cleared his name.
