I liked the stories that focused on Parker and MJ. Sweet and heartfelt and heartbreaking. The introduction of the Sinister Syndicate was also cool but this arc felt lacking. Someone commented earlier that it was like Parker/Spidey was a background character in his own story and that perfectly captures how I feel.

I like Spencer's take on Parker and MJ and felt he did tremendous work with Hunted and I love the rotation of artists but it just feels like there are better Spidey stories out there now

Great art but the storytelling seems to be running out of gas.
Spectacular Spider-Man (which Marvel cancelled) was amazing and ASM had some moments (about 10 issues ago) but I really don't know what Marvel is doing these days especially with Spider-Man. I'd like to think it's just me but the sales numbers for Spider-Man are dreadful.

The art is great, the characters are great - what this title needs is consistency and great storytelling! Come on guys, Spider-Man is your flagship character!

3 stars because I did enjoy it but I enjoyed it because I'm a Spider-Man fanboy and I'll read anything about Spider-Man but this could have been so much better.

This is mostly just getting a 3 stars because I love the character of Spider-Man. With that though, I agree with most of the reviews here with saying that narrative is a mess.

Spoiler The main antagonists are meant to be the new all female sinister syndicate, but all of the characters in it are treated so shallowly. Their Headquarters is described in a way that seems like more of mockery of new "non-traditional" office spaces, which immediately frames this as a group not to be taken seriously.

There's also so many possible new plot points jammed into this one volume, that it makes it hard to care about any of them.

I'm definitely still going to continue with the series in the hopes of some of these loose ends being tied, but this was not a strong addition to the series.

I've really liked this run, but after Hunted (or even during) it seems like Spencer wants to write about everyone except Spider-Man, who has become more of a bit player in his own story. On the fence about keeping this one going, especially with other good Spider-Man comics out there.

Ya know, based on the reviews, I keep waiting for Nick Spencer's run to completely fall apart and become awful, but it really hasn't. It has it's peaks and valleys, and it isn't what i would call a great run thus far, but it's not bad and the highs are a lot higher than the lows are low.
