I stumbled across this book at exactly the right time. It gave me so much hope and encouragement to keep on trekking through this tough semester of nursing school. Not all of the stories in it are great, but overall its a really fantastic read.

Typically work is the last thing I want to spend my free time thinking about, but the essays in this book were incredibly touching and interesting to read. In a time where nursing is so volatile, it was kind of cathartic to touch base to the reasons we do this job.

The stories told in this book give insight to life as a nurse for different people, but overall, it felt negative. I thought there would be more moments of, “this was difficult/heavy/emotional, but it’s all worth it because...”
