I LOVE Discworld. My fave book series. This is my fave in that series. I'd love to have a posse of nac Mac feegles following me around.

Sometimes you just need a dash of Pratchett. It's an odd read twenty years on when so much subversion of fairy tales has become so standard as to be itself subverted, but most of the wit holds up, and there's enough bite to enjoy.

Re-read it, raised my rating to five stars.
I had forgotten how good it was.

And I had forgotten that wonderful crystallization of the social contract,
"Them as can do, has to do for them as can't."
All in one-syllable words.

This book shows an understanding of sheep, witch lore, young children, and maturing children.

And there is nothing quite so much fun as a Nac Mac Feegle.

This is a delightful read. It was my selection for book club based on a hilarious quote about, “if you stay true to your dreams… believe in yourself… and follow your North Star… you will never be as good as someone that wasn’t sitting around thinking about these things. Good day.”

It’s a book with tons of wit and charm, a delightful read through-and-through, though it’s a fantasy, so maybe not for everyone. I loved reading this book. It makes one believe anything is possible!

“It doesn’t stop being magic just because you have found out how its done”
My first re-read of this book and it continues to have my whole heart.
This is the perfect book for kids, and it is the perfect book for adults. I think teenagers may need to wait a bit.
For the kids it is funny little blue men speaking funny and fairy tale like adventure…
For adults, not only is there a funny thing hidden in pretty much every paragraph, but it is filled with such heart and meaning, I think next time I read it ill get even more of it.

I think this may actually be one of my favorite books ever.
5 stars, highly recommend
