I’ve never read from the POV of a more uninteresting protagonist. Don’t read this. How it won a Newberry, especially considering it’s predictable and boring ending is beyond me.

It was good…but you never really find anything out. The mystery isn’t solved. While it was really good writing, it just felt like I wasted a bunch of time with nothing much going on and nothing revealed at or near the end.

I'm so confused as to why people like this. Why did it win an award? I'm so lost. I found it utterly pointless. People keep referring to it as horrific. It is not horrific, it is boring and worthless.
