There were a lot of similarities to Book 1 right off the hop in this one. While I will say right away, the story was vastly different for the most part, I felt like we were still following the same checklist going through this story that was followed in the first.

I really connected more with Juniper than I did with Lark. While I liked that Lark was quirky, I loved how down to earth Juniper was. I was rooting for her and Puck, while with Lark and Cerulean, I found I didn't really care what happened with them.

While Juniper's story did follow Larks quite closely, her relationship with Puck was way more fun to follow. He was a hilarious character, I was constantly smiling at the things he did and said, and let's be honest here, just absolutely swooning over him.

I found myself a lot less confused about what was going on in this one. I didn't have to stop and reread quite as often, although it still did happen. I find Jaster's writing to be purposefully convoluted and overdone. Her prose is extensive… and usually not in a positive way.

Overall, I liked this one WAY more than book 1. Although better, I still didn't find myself turning to this book, connecting to this book, or entirely invested in this book. So, 3 stars.

This book was incredibly enjoyable. I loved the witty banter between Juniper and Puck. The way their relationship evolved was a joy to read. The storyline was great and I loved the riddles of Junipers game. I couldn’t put this one down!

I liked Lark’s story, but I LOVE Juniper’s story!

While Lark was stuck playing the ruler of the sky’s game, Juniper is stuck playing the ruler of the woodland’s game. Puck is a satyr and so is rather salacious, flirty, seductive, and cruelly charming. And then Juniper is the complete opposite. She is given a riddle that she has to solve within 13 days or else she dies. And once again, Puck and his fellow woodland Fae do not make it easy for her.

Juniper is booksmart, and studious, a true fellow introvert. She’s not like her sister Lark, Juniper does not understand flirting and kissing, she relies on logic, not on the heart or emotions. So whenever Puck challenges her on matters of the heart or her emotions, it makes her think, against her better judgement.

The dynamic between Puck and Juniper is just too adorable. Unlike Lark, I absolutely LOVED Juniper’s romance. It was so sweet, and with how different the two are, they just balance each other out so well and teach other different things to make them each better people.

And once again, I loved the world, loved the descriptions, and how everything is written is just so fantastic!

I definitely recommend this book to my fellow Fae lovers! I look forward to the third book to see how Cove fares.

Hunt the Fae captivated me with its beautiful yet perilous world, fueled by the ever serving mindset  of Puck. While Juniper's journey through the Fae realm presented a bunt and survival, it was Puck's vibrant personality that truly stole the show. He's a mischievous trickster, a cunning strategist, and an unexpected source of support for Juniper—a captivating mix that kept me turning pages.

Ultimately, Hunt the Fae soars thanks to Puck. His playful banter, sly humor, and unexpected depth make him an unforgettable companion. (Not to mention his flirting is spot on.) He kept me laughing, gasping, and yearning for more.

Hunt the Fae is a delicious blend of dark fantasy and wit, where the lines between predator and prey constantly shift. While I might have wished for Juniper's cunning to blossom a little sooner, her eventual victories felt all the sweeter.

I can say I was more interested in this book than the 1st. Juniper was a very smart and clever girl who I enjoyed reading about. Puck was not someone I would swoon over but his humor made it worth while. Even though this book was same concept as the first, I was more invested and it was well written. Made me really want to know Cove's story and see how this series ends.
