Fascinating look at the many works of David Weisner, many with close up details.

Is it cool? yes. Is it beautiful? of course. But it's also ponderous and slow. The interview with Wiesner was a standout. It's always interesting to me to see into the artists process. And to have him also share is inspirations with actually shown examples was pretty neat. Happy to have read it, and would own it, but really not blown away by it.

It is fascinating to learn about Wiesner's process and what influences his artwork. This book deepened my appreciation of W's craft. For example, reading why W uses watercolor instead of oil, "When I worked in oil while at RISD I was never comfortable with the loss of the drawing underneath," helped explain why I prefer this less fashionable medium.
