A mildly amusing, very silly short story - borrow from your library
I love John Scalzi's "The Human Division" series, "The Last Emperox" series, and other stories. This is more like an attempt to emulate Robert Asprin. Heavy handed. But just as I was finally getting into the groove, the story ends. It's just a teaser. I don't recommend purchasing this short story. Just check it out from your library's ebook catalog.

Prepare to feel ripped off.
Disappointing. Clever, as always, but very disappointing, nonetheless. (Just typing in a few more words to fit the word count requirement)

this is amazing
the best april's fool joke ever
somebody must stop mr. scalzi before it's too late
(also, i'd like to call it "what not to do when writing fantasy")

This is a very short book, only about 20 minutes to listen to it.
It's not a serious book, with Scalzi's typical humor thrown in. I particularly like the discussion on the fortress wall where the three guards are discussing Night Dragons. A fourth voice says that they have been known to kill three guards at a time. A flash of lightning shows the voice to belong to a Night Dragon, after which, well, I imagine the Night Dragon is no longer hungry.
