The wasp aspect of this horrified me my first read through. Second time as audiobook wasn’t so bad, but still one of the grosser books in this series.

Another great entry in the Sigma Files. Lots of action, lots of adventure. As always, I love the historically-based backstory that feeds into the plot. However, I guess I am not appropriately scared of wasps. Although interesting, I had a hard time being appropriately scared by the notion of the wasps... All-in-all a very good read.

An interesting read in the Sigma Force series. I enjoy reading these books as a quick break between heavier reads. The science, scenery, and characters are always enjoyable and engaging.

Not much to say about this. As always Sigma Force books are a ton of fun and this one is no exception. I am a big fan of this series and will always read the new books coming out every year.

Also, bugs and insects are scary af, especially wasps. This book depicts a particularly deadly species of wasps, and they only made me more afraid of those things. But I also really liked how they are portrayed as this very military like species and their little POV scenes are really weird yet really fun to read about.

Excellent story telling. Not the typical Sigma Force book. The story involved a main character that is not even a person. The fact that the imagery seems so impossible yet so real in frightening.

I gave up after 200 pages into the book. The story really took off at the beginning and I thought this was going to be a great read. I particularly liked the historical component to it (Alexander Graham Bell, James Smithson, the Castle, the buried ancient "demon", the discovery of dormant wasps, etc.). But then, once these demon wasps attacked Hawaii, the story seemed to linger too long in one setting with the same characters, with the same attacks, on the same island. It also got a wee bit too scientific for me, which didn't really interest me anymore. Never really developed much. I simply lost interest and reluctantly stopped reading the book. Perhaps if I were a bit more patient it would have progressed more. But, I got other books to read.
