An excellent conclusion to Martin McDonagh’s Leenane Trilogy! The story and dialogue overall was excellent and I really liked the character of Father Welsh Walsh Welsh. The connections back to the other two plays were pretty neat as well!

Savage end to the Leenane trilogy. Loved every bit of it. Would be bonkers live.

All the things that define McDonagh's style - slick and taut plotting, lunatic characters, witty dialogue, observational humor - are here. Although not much actually happens early on in the play and we don't quite get a grasp of what Father Welsh Walsh Welsh really wants until later on, the final scene is some of the most entertaining drama I've encountered.

I may be biased because I've just read through all three plays of the Leenane trilogy in a row, but this one felt like it floated along without anything driving the plot. 'The Lonesome West' is the weakest of the Leenane trilogy. Still, not a bad play. Some great black comedy lines, great physical comedy, but no real momentum here.
