I have never considered myself someone who enjoys reading scifi as one of my major genres but in all honesty The Book of Koli is making me rethink that. The series is set in the far future after some variety of events brought about the fall of the human race (for the most part). Most people are living isolated lives never daring to venture out to other villages.

I found it slightly difficult to follow at first given the way the POV is written. I can say it's worth continuing though, and it created a pretty unique view as a reader, seeing as some things considered 'ancient' to the current story they might be commonplace in current real time. I found that this combined with the degree of information we can glean from the characters was what really caught me to keep reading.

The book also has a diverse set of main characters and it is one of the few books I've read that has multiple transgender characters where it is a large part of their life but thankfully isn't the only defined characteristic.
