Loved the writing style and concept of this novella. I do enjoy a more subtle romance which this story delivered. Wish I had more time with the characters and the world itself, but such is the case with most novellas. Overall, I enjoyed it but wouldn’t reread.

Really loved this novella by Fonda Lee! It was simple and chill and I am a sucker for books with giant hawks.

It was an alright read. I didn’t really connect with it emotionally though, as the writing felt like the narrator was detachedly telling the story.

This book found me when I needed it. I loved learning of what the depths the training of a wild roc is.
Reading the friendship grow between Darius and Ester was beautiful. To simply exist together in silence at times says alot of how perfect they understood each other.
I will say I was at the edge of my seat right when that fated first fight with the manticore. I am still not over what happened.
The writing was so well done and I really think more need to read this novella.
