This book is beautifully illustrated! I loved how the video games mixed with the stories in this book. :)

This book is a lesson in finding yourself and learning to open yourself up to those who love you. There's also stories about Buddha and Buddhism in here as well that I thought were lovely!

This book found me at a very special time when my grandmother passed away, and I just spent 4 days at her funeral with a group of monks that she spent 8 years living with at the temple. They granted her a special service to help her to the afterlife, and it was enchanting to see and be a part of the rituals to honor my grandmother. I’m glad this book helped teach me more about Buddhism and the practice my grandmother so loved.

After becoming involved in a fight at school, Binh and family take a vacation at a silent retreat.
The host of the camp are Buddhist.
Binh is resentful and dismissive, but as he listens to Jataka tales, he begins to find relevance to his current situation.

A simple sweet story about a boy learning how to slow down and meditate. I liked the video game imagery that was added to put you in the headspace of the character.

This was FANTASTIC. It’s a great introduction to Buddhism and I love that this is about a silent family retreat. How many times do you read about that? ESPECIALLY for a book aimed at children? Exactly. Man, this was so great. I learned so much!
