Such fun!!! I would say as far as a Legend book goes, this was a lot of fun, quality of writing and plot were pretty good and very engaging. I've always known that the Rogue Squadron series in Legends was a fan favorite, so I was wanting to pick it up. I think when reflecting on all the Star Wars books out there, I would there there are some that are better written, but this definitely captures the charm and fun of Star Wars, the characters and fits in wonderfully with the world that Timothy Zhan originally crafted. I actually think that this book does work to capture the same feeling as the Heir to the Empire trilogy, and it is very successful.

I have enjoyed getting to know Wedge and a few of the Rouge Squadron folks. I'm getting a sense of who we may be seeing in this ongoing series. I do think we could either 1) have more female centered characters as so many of these characters and pilots we follow are white dudes 2) be more gay or 3) more women, and more gays!! But that is always going to be something I want more of, though of course this series/Star Wars came out in a particular time in history.

Anyway. Tangent aside, this was fun, entertaining and I've already started the second book!

This was a very fun introduction to Togue squadron. Got me attached to them and made me excited to see where they go.

Originally read this fifteen or twenty years ago and really enjoyed revisiting the characters.

This was a fun, fast-paced Star Wars story. I liked the grittiness and excitement behind the battles. I found it hard to connect to the characters, however. I’m hoping to remedy that in the next book!
