"The disciplines of history and memory should be a site of hope, liberation and decolonization."

An interesting and educational collection about the critical role of oral history and memory in documenting the Palestinian experience.

The book focuses on telling "history from below" by centering the voices of ordinary people and groups that are often overlooked or silenced.

A few of the chapters highlight the importance of anti-colonial/ indigenous feminist analyses which I found particularly worth reading.

The writing is very academic which isn't exactly fun to read and makes the book fairly inaccessible. It also included a number of typos.
