i rlly liked this one and I did not expect to like it at all. My mom recomended it to me and I thought k would get super bored but this book was crazy like something different was happening on every single page it was acc wild and it def kept me hooked bc I had absolutely no idea where the story was going at all and just was always surprised bc it was so random. I also liked how unclear the author was abt where the book was like specifically set but also the way it kind of represented a lot of different South American places at that time period like that was done in a cool way. also this book was very lkne visceral and it def didn’t hold back on details and sometimes I was just like 😬😬😬 bc of how visceral it was but I think it added to how real this book felt but also it didn’t feel real bc of how random it was. I also loved all of the characters and like their additions to the story but the one thing that I did not understand was the ending and how Rolf and Eva ended up meeting and getting together and like what happened to Huberto like I felt like I was on board with everything up until the guerilla stuff and that was when I started getting confused . anyway yeah but overall k don’t think I’ve ever read anything like this book and it was def something new and I enjoyed iy

Chegou um ponto que eu cansei e não estava mais prestando atenção, tento que demorei mais de 1 mês pra ler e ele é bem curtinho…

Honestly I really struggled to read this book, mostly found it required more brain power than I had capacity to give it. Felt like a slog reading it, and I was making very little progress
Great choice for book club because there was genuinely so much to discuss.

A strange, scattered tale which felt much longer than it was. At times very bizarre, at others a bit of a slog. The prose was beautiful and it’s set in an interesting part of history but ultimately I struggled to get through it. The last couple chapters… girl wrap it up
