The second book in the Warriors of Ankh trilogy did NOT disappoint. There was tons of suspense, tense situations, and action scenes along with more sexual tension between Noah and Eden.

Eden is still struggling with the recent events that led up to her family's deaths and what that means for her future and her relationship with Noah. I'm really happy with the fact that her anger was not easily written off, that it stayed with her. It makes it more real. Eden develops new friendships when the Ankh's head to Scotland to train with the Neiths there and meet Eden's blood family. The relationships between Eden, October, Cameron, Valeria, and Noah have so much depth to them. I actually had the warm fuzzies reading it. Eden mentions at one point how she is sad at the thought of leaving Scotland, I actually felt sad at the thought of it too.

Turns out Teagan is still around and he has a plan for getting Eden back. Cosmina, the Bucharest Neith Councilwoman, who believes Eden is an abomination who shouldn't be allowed to live, hasn't given up on finding Eden either. I was constantly on edge wonder if Teagan or Cosmina would find Eden, especially when she started going out on patrols. No need to worry though, she is kick ass, she can protect herself.

Noah and Eden's relationship is intense. She is angry with him because he lied to her in the beginning, she finds it difficult to believe his reasons for it. He basically broke her heart, especially when she found out he was dating Romany the entire time. After talking to Cyrus and getting a new perspective from the Ankh side of things Eden is able to see why Noah did what he did and is able to trust him. It helps that he has broken up with Romany and has the definite hots for Eden. In turn this causes their relationship to flare. Such chemistry!

The end of the book was full of suspense. Eden is faced with a choice, a MAJOR choice. I was biting my nails wondering how it was going to turn out.

Between the action, suspense, and romance this book is full of reasons to keep the pages turning. Again I finished it in just a few hours and am eagerly moving on to the final book in the series.

Eden Winslow travels to Scotland in order to find her true mother's human lineage, so that she can be saved from her Soul Eater side.
After turning a full blooded Ankh, she starts her training, eager to prepare herself better to hunt down and kill the kind of monster she once was.
However, her life won't be easy - she is caught in the politics of the warriors of Neith, being the target of several dangerous situations, while she also has to deal with the grief she still feels over her brother Stellan's death and Noah's betrayal.
At the same time, Teagan, her twisted cousin who was always obsessed with her, is back and looking forward.
When he puts the people she loves in danger, Eden has to make some choices.

If you read the first book of this series, you certainly have to read this one!
A lot of questions are answered, while others are asked and you can keep following the journey of Eden, who is an incredible character, amazingly complex, just like I said in the review of Blood Will Tell.

I was happy to see that, finally, Eden and Noah's relationship is going somewhere! :)
Also, I grew to love Valeria. She is a great character when you come to know her, even though she may appear a bit harsh or insensitive.
I don't need to talk about Cyrus, of course. I felt an instant connection to him in the first book, just like the heroine, and I am happy that we could read more about him.
But the man is still a huge mystery! xD I'm curious! xD
His story is so sad. OMG! I can't imagine the pain he must feel, losing what he lost and being immortal. :(
I always thought that immortality was more of a curse than a gift...Tragic!

Anyway, looking forward to read the last book of this series!

**** 4 STARS ****

The second book didn't disappoint. Yes, there was more teenage angst - however- there was also more romance, more action, more fighting, more character development, and more characters to love.
And I did find myself caring about the health and well-being of many of the characters.

This book doesn't leave off on a cliff hanger as the last one did, but we are left wondering about the state of some relationships/characters. We are introduced to a new, likeable character --- who I truly hope doesn't end up being part of some stupid love triangle --- as well as the villains/bad guys for the next book.

I hope I like the next book as much as this one.

I stayed up late finishing this book and it was AWESOME!!!!! I can't wait to read the last installment. I ten not to like YA books because of all the teen stuff but she makes it bearable and funny. I love it and will recommend this to my friend who is a teacher of 8th graders.

3.5 stars -- Definitely a solid followup to the first book. Sometimes I thought I knew where this book was going, but at other times I was surprised -- especially about the outcomes of the battle at the end.

I loved meeting more fabulous secondary characters in this installment -- Valeria, October and Cameron were great new friends to Eden. Sometimes I wished for a little more depth to their friendships, but then again, she just met them. And Mhairi/Nana was a hoot!

I also enjoyed the increased romance aspect in this book. I was a bit disappointed in that part in book one, and in the previous series I read by Ms. Young, so it was nice to have more of that in this one. It's funny, though, b/c I felt a stronger connection between Eden and Noah in the first book as friends than I did in this book in some cases. The kisses were definitely hot, but I guess I was just missing some of that glow that I get from other books. I'm not sure...there was just something missing.

Still really intrigued by the mythos of the world, and I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the conclusion...especially since things happened in this one that I wasn't expecting. I don't really have anything else to say...so I guess while I enjoyed it, it didn't stand out as much as the first book.
