My parents had a copy when I was young and I tried to read it because it was written by a fellow Rachel. Finally got around to reading it now that I am old enough to understand the topic. I like the style of writing, very poetical. Even though it is a book about death and mans poisoning of the environment, it leaves you with an excitement about life and makes me want to go back to school to be a biologist. I should also follow up on some of the topics discussed, written in the sixties I am sure much has changed (at least I hope so).

I'm glad I finally got to read this book. It is like reading a piece of history rather than current information and calls to action. The writing is easy to understand but the content is depressing.
