Since when is the person you want to screw the only person you get to love?

Overall the ending message of love and honesty is wonderful. But, there are parts of the book that haven’t aged well over the years, and I really disliked the rampant fatphobia. I enjoyed it, but probably won’t reread.

I thought this book was pretty good. At the beginning of my reading experience, I felt that John Green's side of the story lacked a sense of uniqueness in comparison to his other works. Of course, one should always expect John Green to be in his books, but I wish that would change once and a while. However, towards the end of the novel, I felt that the story had developed a bit more than I had expected it to. His relationship with Jane, and Tiny Cooper, and being a good friend to the other Will Grayson all pleased me.

That brings me to the other Will Grayson (David Levithan's Will Grayson). I was hooked IMMEDIATELY. Perhaps it was the lowercase letters or the mental health aspect of his character or just the overall writing style, but I was interested in David Levithan's side of the story right off the bat. I remember when I was reading it, I was always tempted to skip John Green's chapters just so I could get to David's. I think I just like Levithan's writing style a bit more than Green's. Not to say Green isn't a good writer, though. He's pretty good.

I would most definitely recommend this book to a friend, and I would most definitely read it again.

This book was amazing and I think it is one of the best books I've read in a while. I can really relate to the second Will Grayson because when he meets Tiny and kind of blows up reminds me of myself because I have done that to several people (although none in person). I was really proud of Tiny for staying with Will because I know it's a lot of work. I also like how they don't say that it switches between the two Will's and you kind of have to just infer that. I think John and David had an excellent idea with this book and followed through beautifully.

I heard that the book was rude, hilarious, funny, honest and awesome, before I even started reading it. And then I picked it up. And the people telling me all those forementioned things, were right! Dead right! But they forgot to mention Tiny Cooper.

I loved this book. I read it within a day and was laughing throughout the entire book. The part of the picking other people's noses? Hi-la-ri-ous. It got me a couple of weird looks, but I didn't care at the slightest. This book was so funny! And somehow, it felt real. Like it could really happen.

My favorite character? Tiny Cooper of course! He was the star of the show and the book could have easily had his name as a title. Tiny is awesome.

My overall rating: 5/5

DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED. In capitals, yes. Go read it.

I hated the way it was written, from both authors, and both Wills were so ridiculously unlikable that I just didn't care about anything that was happening to them.

It wasn't until I got halfway through the book that I got into it because it took me that long to get a handle on each Will Grayson, thought I didn't particularly connect to either one. I'm a fan of both authors, but I'd rather read the books they write separately.

LOL???? WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT????
This book was John Green-y and David Levithan (from what I know)-y in a way that I really really enjoyed but in like, a nostalgic way. Like I don't think I would have liked it if it wasn't reminding me of books that I was reading in middle school. It reminds me a LOT of Going Bovine by Libba Bray (but more toned down) weirdly. Some weird 2010s attitudes about mental health snuck in there which was the biggest sticking point for me honestly. Like, this big idea of "depressed people are fundamentally psychologically distinct from other people and literally nothing about their environment or mental state or anything else in their life can change that except for medication" is semi-present throughout, which was a PAINFUL level of throwback because I remember how like groundbreakingly based that idea was to me when I was 14. One thing I really did like about this book is how it reads as pretty emotionally intelligent, if that make sense. Like, characters will be having issues, they'll realize what their sticking points are, and they'll talk to other characters and make progress without SUPER drawn-out denial or misunderstanding arcs, which I think happen in EVERY OTHER BOOK like this. There was legit emotional conflict, but it was resolved in ways that were not extremely painful to read for no reason, which made me wonder why everyone else does it for the sake of tension or drama or whatever. I really enjoyed the characters and I thought their internal lives were explored well. I preferred John Green Will Grayson to David Levithan Will Grayson but both parts were enjoyable and the concept was goofy and they pulled it off. Also, John Green's indie nerd guy thing is SO much more fun to read about when I know what he's talking about.

Started slow, and didn't enjoy it at first, but it picked up and became pretty funny after a while!
