Whilst reading this book I found myself having to adjust to the writing style of Heather Fawcett. It's not a writing style that I have come across before. I do think it's a shame that a language barrier sometimes made it difficult for me to follow the more difficult and academic words, but nothing a little google search can't fix. I'm a little torn whether I want to read the sequel or not at this moment. But I probably will.

What has stayed with me is that.. when the book switches to the POV from one of the other characters, you know that it's going to be good. Chef's kiss. Always love a little peak into another character that isn't the main.

The problem with cozy fantasy is I find it unbearably boring unless I am specifically in the mood for it. And this was boooring.

It was fine, I just didn't feel any sort of connection to it. I never found myself wanting to delve back into its pages.
