Enjoyably twisty boarding-school thriller, told through the eyes of Bodie Kane, a successful podcaster and film studies professor whose return to her high school boarding school causes new questions about her roommate’s murder senior year to surface. The author is very passionate about crimes against women, which can occasionally come across as heavy-handed. But the points she raises are timely and relevant.
Thank you to Libro.fm and Viking for the audiobook.

This book! It somehow managed to be an extremely poignant commentary on misogyny and our culture's fetishization of violence against women, but also a true crime story about violence against women that I couldn't put down?! I think it's brilliant what this author has done with this genre. It also felt extremely nostalgic thinking about high school and college as a young woman. All of the excitement and giggling all while moving through a world that we didn't understand and baring the weight of womanhood while we were just girls. Ugh. So good.

it took SO long to read this book ugh

i would be reading, finish like 5 chapters, and then 5 more chapters, like feel like nothing happened and that i didn't even make a dent in the book. however, i also wanted to keep reading most of the time. i just felt like i was constantly reading this book yet i somehow always had half of the book left
