An amazing set of novellas, but definitely is meant to be read after the rest of the series. I love this series!

I had a good time with this book. As it says on the tin, it is a novella with several short stories attached. Honestly, this was a fun catch-up with the characters from the Earth Girl trilogy.
That said, this felt very... This felt like an exercise in fun for the author. Which is absolutely their prerogative! But I really wish that it had been given a few passes by a rather picky editor. There is a whole lot of LITERAL tell, don’t show, with OG trilogy motivations gaining a rather (felt like to me) retconned mention. There was also a bit of repetition in terms of the lovely world building from the first three novels.
Lastly, I am REALLY frustrated by the through line of Jarra’s ABSOLUTE REJECTION of mental health services. The author has gone to great. Pains to establish why Jarra is avoidant to it, but FFS, I wanted to both hug and SHAKE Jarra with equal fervor. It is VERY OBVIOUS that Jarra has suffered some deep trauma, both from her childhood and her more recent experiences. She disassociated to the point of repression for MONTHS. She has suffered several near-death experiences and regularly lets her anxiety and catastrophizing take over and push her into reactive outbursts. GET
