I felt as if this book was all over the place. I couldn't connect with the characters and I found Beth to be extremely childish. She gave up her boyfriend, lost her job and that doesn't bother her? Far too accepting of all this.

This was the first book I’ve read by Laura and I was not disappointed! Very intriguing storyline that had me going back and forth on what I wanted to happen! Especially by the end of the book! Took me a minute to get hooked in the beginning but once it grabbed me the story never let me go! Definitely loved the twists that I was given. I’ve already grabbed the 2nd book Bound by Blood, to carry on. Because that ending……!!!

Immortal Kiss was a fun Vampire romance with a twist on the classic vampire mythos. Beth falls for the mist, an incorporeal form that visits her each night. After years of living with the mist, her human boyfriend gives her an ultimatum. It's him or the mist. The ensuing drama leads to the mist revealing itself at the vampire. Beth throws herself into her new life with the vampire with what can only be called reckless abandon, but soon her new lifestyle begins to change her.

All it all it's a great casually read.

I love a good vampire book. But I think this book was a bit slow in the beginning for me. Beth being in love with mist? Weird right? I thought so too. But if you read on you learn more about this. I think the book was interesting after it got going for me. I had in read more about this mist. I had to find out what it was all about. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Immortal Kiss is a paranormal Romance book by Laura Daleo. Our heroine Beth has encounters of a mystery mist since she was a young girl. She has never been able to have meaningful relationships because something has always pulled her back to the mist.

One night she meets Philippe, and her life changes. He is who she has been waiting for. He pulls her in to a lovely romance that is strong. But along the way lies are told friends are lost, she is pulled into the world where things really do go bump in the night. She has to come to terms with what she really wants and who really loves her.

Romance: Good
Plot: Very good

HEA: cliff hanger

I adored this book! I just love vampire novels, they are my guilty pleasure! Within the pages of Immortal Kiss you will find love, mystery, deceit and how vampires came to be! Immortal Kiss is very Anne Rice-ish, only less gruesome, softer somehow. The way in which Laura Daleo spun her version of Vampire Mythology was wonderfully refreshing and completely original!

Let's delve into the plot. At times there were happenings that were very predictable. For me this wasn't a problem whatsoever, I had so much fun reading this book! Of course as I stated in the above paragraph, this book was in other ways completely refreshing and original.

I found that the setting and the theme in this book was immensely enjoyable and utterly addicting! I loved how it all started on a cold winter’s night with a mysterious mist. From that moment I was ready to dive right into Beth’s story!

I want to touch base on Beth and Philippe’s relationship. In the beginning they move extremely fast, she pretty much moves in with in a day after ‘officially’ meeting him. Any other time I’d say to myself “Hold up a minute, what the heck??”. However under the circumstances, since Beth knew the mist her whole life I feel their fast-paced relationship was appropriate.

Now let’s talk secondary characters. Philippe’s best friend Caleb. Caleb is Philippe’s maker, so they are pretty close. I’d say as comparable as best friends or brothers. Don’t let their relationship fool you, they are complete opposites, but they do say opposites attract. Out of all the characters in this book, I’d say Caleb affected me the most. In the beginning he’s a complete ass, well he’s actually an ass all the way through the book but we get to see him from all facets later on in the story. I’m going to go out on a limb here and compare him to Damon Salvatore from Vampire Diaries! You know, when you meet him he totally gets under your skin, but by the end you’re totally in love with him!

Do you love vampire novels? Or how about books about true love being your destiny? Oh hey, or better yet, mythology that goes all the way back to the Egyptian Gods? Well if any of those things pique your interest I’d highly suggest checking out Immortal Kiss! I’m sure you’ll fall head over heels in love with this original vampire novel!

Oh and I can’t forget, there’s going to be three more books for this series! I was so happy to find out from the author that this series will be composed of four lovely books!

I admit, when I first started reading this book, I didn't think I was going to like it. It just seemed a bit slow to me. Trust me, once you get reading it, you can't stop.

Laura Daleo takes a twist on the vampire myth and makes it even better - by using Egyptian mythology to spice it up. I love this because a) I love mythology and b) it makes the vampire myth even stronger by mixing gods with vampires.

I have to admit that I often wondered about Phillipe and Beth's relationship - it seemed to me at times that the relationship was more or less Beth being compelled by Phillipe to be in love with him. Even at the very end of the book I still wasn't entirely sure that he wasn't compelling her to love him - but the same can be said for any vampire/human relationship I suppose.

The only real problems I ran into with this book was the lack of good proofreading and editing. To be honest, there were several spots where words were clearly missing or misspelled. They didn't detract from the story itself in any way, but they did make me pause every time I found one. But I also tend to be super aware of that kind of thing, so it could well just be me.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a new paranormal romance novel to sink their teeth into (pardon the pun).

This book gave me a headache. Here's the thing, I knew romance was a prominent part of this book. Despite very few of my favorite books fitting squarely into the romance genre (with Sherrilynn Kenyon being the only modern romance author to appeal to me at all, and only having read some of her stuff, even then), so many of my favorites do contain some romantic plot points, so I'll never write off an awesome sounding just plot just because characters get a bit lovey-dovey. I wish I had, though.
description

Since the MC, Beth, was six, a mist gravitated through her bedroom window every single night, and sometimes materialized into a humanoid shape. Instead of blaming it on weather patterns or ghosts, you know, logical stuff (yes, I said ghosts and logical in the same sentence, and no, I'm not taking it back!), Beth falls in love with it like a boyfriend.
description

When Beth is 25 at the start of chapter 1, she's wildly in love with the mist, but stringing along a guy who's been sweet to her up until that point. I'm not really sure why she's stringing him along, if it's sex or what, because she's just SO IN LOVE with the mist and has a roommate for company. Her boyfriend does take the breakup hard, but he did get dumped for a then-imaginary friend, so I can't blame him for it.

So it happens that this mist really is a physical being, but it only gets weirder when he shows himself. Not only is Beth cool with dating a guy who's visited her every night since she was learning still learning how to add and he was a full-grown man, but she's instantly in love with him and they boink half-a-dozen times in just a few nights after they officially meet, but he's totally rich and hot, so it's cool and totally not creepy.
description

Stuff happens later, but it takes so long to start and the book is over so quick after it starts that I'm not even interested in picking up the sequel this seems to promise.

In all fairness, there's a market for books like these. If you like gushy, Love Conquers All-type stories, this is for you. If you've exhausted all other options, that is.

Received for free through a Goodreads giveaway. All opinions are my own.
