I really enjoyed. It was a solid piece of fiction. Nothing really special about it.

I think the only reason why I wouldn't give it a 5 star rating is the romance between Laurie and Alex is just annoying because it's this will they -won't they thing and I don't care about that subplot at all. So I think besides that this is a great piece of work.

There wasn't a whole lot of character development of the some of the side characters and even of Laurie's assistants. I think that could have been fleshed out more, I would like to know what is going on in their lives, especially because Laurie's personal life is so boring.

I guessed the killer about halfway through of the book, but I think that this was most likely because this mystery was dumbed down for a wider audience.

I will be finishing this series.

Laurie Moran's reality show, Under Suspicion, sets up a good premise for this book, but the crew's investigation on the Cinderella Murder are just so dull. Since the novel begins as an investigation of a cold case, the reader is presented with boring narratives from different characters, in which the omniscient narrator, out of the blue, adds some "little-did-she-imagined-that.." kind of sentences that forcedly introduced the so-called suspense. I found this ridiculous, alongside Timmy's character. As I said in other reviews I made about Mary Higgins Clark's books, she doesn't know how to write children. Why are all her kids so brilliant and perceptive and so well-spoken, almost like an adult, the only difference being that they say things like "mommy" and "cool"? Timmy's characters, actions and lines were completely absurd. On that note, we can still find lot of Clark's touches in this book, although this is a collaboration between two authors: the sensitive boy, the attractive successful female character with a past full of hurt, the equally handsome and successful male character in love with the protagonist who deeply worries about her, the nosy neighbor... The reader is used to meet those in Clark's books, but in this one the characters just felt very empty and forced, unfolding a story that only began to sound interesting about 2/3 from the end.

It was a decent mystery. Kind of predictable but fun.

A TV crew does a show on the 20-year-old cold case of the murder of a young woman and ultimately solves the case. A nice easy read for when you don't want to have to think too much.
