Naifeh manages to capture the vibe of dark academia here. The graphic novel feels very much like Jim Henson's Labyrinth, but it strayed just a little too dark for my taste.

This comic filled a weird niche that I had left abandoned for a while now (let's call it the "I was a goth kid in another life niche for now). For those who grew up on Coraline and wanted more...enjoy!

I'm in no hurry in reading the next ones but I'll probably read the second one at some point...

Manga isn't my thing but this was highly recommended so I gave it a shot. I finished the first book and feel no need to continue this series. Not wild about the artwork or the stories.

This is a "it's not you, it's me" review.

Courtney Crumrin and The Night Things is one of those graphic novels that catches your attention from page one. The artwork is amazing through its simplicity; the characters are unique, and the story is fascinating.

I really got attached to Courtney, and I’ll admit that I’m jealous of her. I wish I could live in her world... Any person should have his or her own monster buddies, don’t you think?

My only problem was the lack of coloring that started since page 36. However, since the story is truly amazing this didn’t decrease the quality of the novel. I’m honestly looking forward to reading more of this series.

I really liked this - spooky and hilarious!

"Her father was still at the dinner table, as usual, reading the Wall Street Journal and pretending to understand it." 😂

Awesome graphic novel to get into the spooky spirit!

I relate to Courtney in more ways than I'd like to admit. I, too, don't appreciate people

Any book where children occasionally get eaten by night creatures without any apologies by the author is okay in my book! Courtney is such a fantastic character. Wish I was half as badass as she is! (Though personally I am happy I have a nose. Why does she have no nose?! Why did I not even notice she didn't have a nose until someone pointed it out to me?!)
