I think if I gave this book any fewer than five stars, God Herself would come and smite me down. I don't think I need to explain why Good Omens is one of my top five books ever. Read the book, and you'll find out.

Young adult/ adult
As a fan of both Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, I started reading this book with some trepidation-- when multiple authors are involved, it's a very rare thing that the whole will be greater than the sum of its parts. But this is the exception that proves the rule: both authors shine in this satirical and hysterical look at the final days. These guys know their Bible, and I'm guessing that they even gave God a chuckle.

A strong, funny beginning to what ends up being a rather mediocre book. It quickly gets mired down in a plethora of semi-cooked story lines and self-indulgent world play and wit will only keep me interested for so long. The ending hooked me again and all the concepts were fun, but it just felt bloated beyond belief.

It's the kind of humour I enjoy. However, I was hoping for a bit more depth coming from the TV show, but it seems to be just that surface level.
