Read for Book Group
I was left feeling a little 'huh?' afterwards, with questions & quibbles & not-quite-sure-about-that-ness. So it was okay, and I read it pretty fast, but still, not great for me.

I thought the previous two novels from this author were only "ok" but I have to say this one is excellent. Love how you see the story from many different points of view, and did not anticipate the twists and turns that the book took. Will definitely be reading more from Sophie Hannah.

I loved this book but got a bit bored, and a bit lost. Don't know if it was the book or too many characters?

Yet another Irritating, unlikeable, Incapable main female character. This seems to be a theme in Sophie Hannah's novels and I'm finding it very boring now.

The first chapter was awful; shouting at some unknown woman in the street and then somehow knocked over by a bus. Made absolutely no sense! I did enjoy the book as it progressed but it wasn't an easy read.

I'm trying very hard to read and like Sophie Hannah's books but I'm sorry to say I just can't. They grate on me and unusually, put me in a bad mood with the unbelievable characters.

The majority of this book was really good. The mystery was engrossing and the characters were interesting. I liked it right up to when you find out what happened. It didn’t seem to fit together. There wasn’t any moment when I thought ‘oh I get it’, so I just keep waiting for another twist so that it would make sense to me… and it never did.

I have so far read two of Sophie Hannah’s books (I have also read Little Face) and had the same problem. Good story up to a point then it gets kind of vague and doesn’t-make-sense. Not going to continue with the series.

1 Star - did not understand or like the ending and it ruined the whole book. Not going to read anything else by this author.

Sally Thorning is watching the news with her husband when she hears an unexpected name-Mark Bretherick. It's a name she shouldn't know, but last year Sally treated herself to a secret vacation-away from her hectic family life-and met a man. After their brief affair, the two planned to never meet again. But now, Mark's wife and daughter are dead-Sally is shocked to learn that the man shown on TV is not the same one she had met last year!

This book was a little too much IMO, I have read the 1st two books in this series - compared to that The Wrong Mother was a bit of disappointment, too dragged!

By the end of the book I didnt understand why the killer had committed those crimes, it was a flat ending!

Not terrible as an airplane book but overly complicated with too many characters for this kind of plot.
