I was obsessed with this. A perfect mix of camp slasher movie and earnest gay coming of age-ness, and the YA-ness kept it from getting too dark. Dearie and Cole are incredible and I'm really bummed this book is over, because I wanted more time with them!

Did I see the killer reveal coming? No, but I'm stupid, so if any of the other reviews are like "it was so obvious" I will simply agree to disagree. Not all of us can read, sometimes we're just here for the vibes.

10/10, re-entering my murder mystery phase but possibly specifically for YA because everything else has been so groty lately.

i’d just like to point out how much i loved the depiction of intimate queer friendships that remain platonic in this book because it’s so accurate and not shown enough!

This book really was like a queer scream, full of suspense and twist, I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen next and who the Sandman was.
But beyond that it’s a book about what community coming together can help you solve a mystery.

This book was pretty entertaining, and I didn’t expect the ending. However, I did find a lot of it cringy (this could be due to the fact that I listened to the audiobook instead of reading a physical copy), and the writing style just wasn’t my vibe. I loved the characters, and the mystery was cool. But I also found the beginning totally rushed, and they skipped over scenes that I felt could’ve been explained better.
