Wow, I must truly hate myself for actually reading through this whole book. It was frustrating from the very beginning but I just kept going on the hopes of one single aspect I was interested in that wasn’t even in the book.

FMC is a twin and is supposed to be the “smart twin”, but somehow doesn’t realize that everyone in this small town is shooting her looks of hate because they hate her stupid ass sister, not her.

FMC and MMC hate each other but end up fucking multiple times because they just can’t resist each other. The sex was not hot to me because I need to feel the love. I want goddamn romance in my goddamn romance book.

Also this book switched POVs between FMC and MMC. FMC is made fun of for her vocabulary and sounding smart all the time but the writer has both POVs sound pretty similar with big words in both. Yes, on the MMC’s chapters there was more swearing in this thoughts but still, I don’t think he’d use those words while thinking.

There’s too much dog in this book. There did not need to be like six dogs at one point. It was so unnecessary and WHY did the author have to write about the dog pissing like five times. Leave that shit out. Also they just fucked in front of his dog too.

The fucking third act break up was so terrible. He said so many shitty things that I would never get back with someone after getting told them. I really hated that I knew they’d get back together after that. He did not deserve her love after that shit.

Then random ass kidnappings and oh hey they got stolen by a mob guy cuz of course they did. Then they got rescued by the whole town and the police and she just forgave the MMC because omg he saved me. They should not have gotten married after that shit. I needed to see him grovel and beg for forgiveness but the book just skipped through all that straight to them fucking again, I kid you not.

I’m so sorry to my past self for going through reading this book. At some point I just pushed myself to finish it so I could write my review about how awful it was. I wouldn’t want my worst enemies to read this book.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠. There’s fun in all the messiness, though. The story had just enough drama and tension to keep me curious, even when I was rolling my eyes at half the dialogue. I was turning pages like it owed me answers.

“𝘐𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘺 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝒖𝒏𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆” - 𝚙𝚊𝚐𝚎 𝟾𝟽

It’s a romance, so you kind of know what you’re signing up for. I appreciated that the main female character wasn’t some damsel in distress. She had her own strength, independence, and grit. Even as a people pleaser, she stood her ground and had a mouth on her when tested.

“𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦. 𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘻𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧.” - 𝚙𝚊𝚐𝚎 𝟷𝟺𝟺

Think of this like a predictable Hallmark movie.. but with tattoos and trauma. Not a favorite, but not a total flop either. If you’re curious, I say library it and vibe.

Hands-down my favourite Lucy Score book and my favourite of this series. The introduction to this quirky little town is everything.

Knox and Naomi were so perfect but Waylay 100% steals this show. Kids in books can be really hit and miss but that prickly little girl has my whole heart

Perfection all around

I liked the story, could have done without the graphic sex scenes.
