With old enemies now unwilling friends and a moment of peace settled between the battle with the heavens and the conflict with the crafter still to come--vol. 19 is a time for flash mobs and doomed romance, a resting and gathering of forces as characters seek to understand certain threats and brace for the fight still to come.

Began with
an execution

Ended with a
flash dance mob, an ablution
AND
confessed feelings

This was the most insane emotional rollercoaster I have ever been on

Five out of five

Beautiful dramatic romp! Good plot stuff, set up of the next big conflict, celebration of the very good characters.

Bumping up my rating a little bit, because this volume got me a little more into the series again. This volume is a rollercoaster, honestly. It goes from serious to that weird flash mob to serious again. God poor Yukine, poor Ebisu, poor Yato. Everyone is so tragic. This volume goes a little into Ebisu's history with his many revivals and lack of preservation, which makes me sad. Then Yukine is especially tragic. He needs to be protected at all costs. Every time he's left alone it makes me so anxious and I just want to shake Yato for being the way he is, but like Yato's got shit going on too.

I'm more eager to catch up to the current volumes in the series, because I'm so curious where this will end up. Something's definitely going to happen with the gods' secret, but what?

What a weird volume. The flash mob, then the kiss. All very strange. I can't stand the stray. I'm tired of her coming out of nowhere to mess with Yukine.

This volume is so precious.
I love it when the antagonists from the previous arcs become family members later on lol. Ahhh Yukine's birthday flash mob was way too adorable. And Yukine and Nora? I kinda ship it ngl but I'm scared for whatever she and the father have planned. Yato going off on his own, nothing good is gonna come out of this me thinks sighhhh I admire his growth but I'm also gonna be biting my nails

Adachitoka, you can keep getting away with causing me emotional distress! First of all, I need the Stray to stay away from Yukine! Also the fact that Yato is willing to kill his dad and his potential lifeline, because he believes that Hiyori will remember him enough for him to be reincarnated..... Devastation. Plus, Hiyori starting to be aware of her feelings for Yato in that same scene and not wanting him to be reincarnated because she wants him to stay the same Yato as the one she has always known.

I loved seeing everyone celebrate that Yato, Yukine, Bishamon, and the others were all safe. I adore everyone so much and seeing them all show up for each other... ahh! I'm nervous about Kazuma and the fact that no one knows where he is. I hope that he is okay. Everyone planning a flash mob for Yukine's birthday was so sweet and lovely (and the flash mob happening where Yato, Yukine and Hiyori first meet!!). The fact that he was so happy that Yato gave him a name and that they all became a little family just warms my heart. I'm so scared to find out about his death and how it happened. I'm also nervous that the Stray is going to force him to remember. I don't know what she is planning but I don't like it.

This was a somewhat chill volume but it feels like its going to set up a lot of things and I'm very nervous to see where things go.

I definitely needed this volume. It felt like a good breather after everything that happened while still maintaining this uneasy feeling underneath.
